LANSING, Mich. – Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential today announced that Michigan’s Great Start Readiness Program, the state’s main PreK for All program, again achieved top marks for quality.
This summer, Michigan families can get extra help buying groceries through the SUN Bucks program. Each eligible school-aged child will receive $120 to spend on food during the summer months. Your child may be eligible if they are between 6 and 18 years old and receive SNAP (food benefits), TANF (cash assistance), or Medicaid with income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level.

Charlotte, MI - During the Eaton Regional Education Service Agency (RESA) Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, district officials announced upcoming biennial board member elections for three, six year terms. The election will take place on Monday, June 2, 2025, in the Board Room at the Eaton RESA main office, 1790 East Packard Highway, Charlotte, MI 48813.
Since 1974, the Eaton RESA Career Preparation Center (CPC) has offered local high school students hands-on learning and career development through a variety of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and learning opportunities.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the CPC, current students, alumni, instructors, employers, industry partners and CPC supporters are invited to an Anniversary Open House on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 4 - 6 p.m. at Lansing Community College West Campus.
Eaton RESA Welcomes New Administrators
Eaton Regional Education Service Agency (RESA) has announced the recent hire of three new administrators to the team. Each of the individuals bring a strong background in education to RESA and are experts in their perspective fields. Two of the new positions are the result of staff retirement and the other is a result of a transfer of roles within the district.
Jane Miller-Brinkley is the new Principal of Meadowview School, Eaton RESA’s center-based school serving students with severe cognitive and emotional impairments. Ms. Miller-Brinkley has over 24 years of experience working in the field of special education. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Indiana University, a Master of Education in Special Education with an emphasis on inclusion from University of Michigan and a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from Western Michigan University. Most recently, Ms. Miller-Brinkley was an Autism Consultant for Berrien RESA.
Jennifer McCaffrey is Eaton RESA’s new Early Childhood Supervisor. She has worked in the field of early childhood education for over 24 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development from Siena Heights University, a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education with an Elementary Teaching Certificate and a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Marygrove College. Ms. McCaffrey’s experience includes parent education, home visiting, preschool and elementary teaching, and preschool and childcare administration. Most recently, she has worked as an Early Childhood Consultant at Ingham Intermediate School District (ISD) supporting the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), curriculum, assessment and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Dr. Sean Williams has assumed the role of Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services at Eaton RESA. Dr. Williams most recently served as the Director of Student Instructional Services at Ingham ISD. There, he led several county-wide projects including common assessments, priority and focus schools supports, Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), and the implementation of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) in secondary schools. Prior to joining Ingham ISD, Dr. Williams was an MTSS-Response to Intervention (RTI) specialist at Michigan State University and the program coordinator of the Michigan Fellowship of Instructional Leaders program, which is based out of the Office of K-12 Outreach at Michigan State University. Dr. Williams holds a dual Ph.D. from Michigan State University in K-12 Educational Administration and Educational Policy.
