Support Networks

The Eaton County Coaching Network (ECCN) meets every other month throughout the school year to provide Eaton County coaches with an opportunity to learn and grow together. ECCN meets to support the valuable work of coaches in our local districts. The group is led by members of the Eaton RESA General Education team. Any individuals that find themselves in a position supporting and coaching adults in our schools in a non-evaluative capacity are welcome to join at any time!

The Eaton IGNITE New Teacher Network provides year-long networking and support to Eaton County educators. While the network was created to support new teachers, all Eaton County educators are welcome to attend.

IGNITE is led by members of the Eaton RESA General Education team and meets both virtually and in-person over the course of the school year. The first and last meetings of the year are in-person networking events. These events provide teachers with the opportunity to gather together and connect in a relaxed atmosphere. Throughout the year, IGNITE provides opportunities for online professional learning on a variety of topics ranging from classroom management to lesson planning to self-care. Drop-in support for teachers is available during Coaching Connect sessions that are also offered throughout the school year.

We hope educators can attend all of the IGNITE events throughout the year. However, as busy educators, we understand that may not always be feasible and have intentionally designed the learning sessions to be flexible. We encourage educators to come when you can (even just one session) and as you are (sweatpants, wacky hair day, spirit week costumes, and all).

SCECHs are available for all IGNITE sessions.

Benefits of IGNITE

  • Get to know other Eaton County educators and build your connections across the county
  • Learn and grow professionally
  • Get connected to helpful teaching tools and resources
  • Earn SCECH credit for participation*

*As a new educator you likely have a Standard Teaching Certificate. To renew your certificate you will need to fulfill 150 hours of Education Related Professional Learning. This learning provides an opportunity for new educators in Eaton County to meet this requirement by attending the IGNITE sessions and participating in coaching if desired.
