Lisa Seigel Named Early College Director

Charlotte, MI - Committed to innovative education solutions for students transitioning from high school to college, education expert Lisa Siegal joins the Eaton Regional Education Services Agency (RESA) as director of Early College.

Before joining Eaton RESA, Lisa served as Early Middle College (EMC) manager with the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) where she oversaw similar programs across the state.

During her time with MDE, Lisa worked to evolve the EMC program into a school district-friendly, systems driven program focused on all levels of learners. Under her leadership, she provided direction to administrators, improved processes and developed and updated support systems and documents.

“College costs are soaring, and the Early College program not only saves families up to $50,000 in tuition and fees, but also prepares students for a smooth transition to the college environment setting them up for future success," said Dr. Sean Williams, Eaton RESA superintendent. “We are thrilled to have Lisa, an experienced advocate for early college programs, lead this program.”

The program offers up to 60 college credits, tuition free, for students in participating high schools who will be starting their junior year of high school. After three years, successful students will have earned their high school diploma and up to 60 college credits, transferable to most colleges and universities.

With an emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math, the Early College curriculum prepares students for in-demand careers and industries.
