Adult Education Instructor Named Top 10 in Nation
Eaton RESA Adult Education Instructional Coordinator Jay Marietti was recently named one of the Top 10 Adult Education Educators in the United States by the GED National Awards organization. This prestigious national recognition comes on the heels of Marietti being named the Michigan Adult, Community and Alternative Education Association (MACAE) Outstanding Educator of the Year, further highlighting the impact of his work and leadership in adult education.
Throughout his career, Marietti has dedicated himself to adult and alternative education, helping students who may have become disengaged from school or felt they had exhausted their opportunities for success. His passion for meeting students where they are, developing effective curriculum, and creating pathways to achievement has helped transform lives while strengthening Eaton RESA Adult Education’s instructional program.
The Eaton RESA Adult Education program has grown from 42 graduates in its first year to 55 graduates in the Class of 2026—an increase of nearly 31% in just one year. During that same period, Eaton RESA Adult Education has doubled its teaching team and expanded class locations, increasing access to educational opportunities for adult learners throughout Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties. As Eaton RESA Adult Education continues to expand its reach and impact across the region, Marietti's commitment to student success remains at the heart of that growth.
