SMS Terms of Service

This section governs your enrollment in Eaton Regional Education Service Agency (Eaton RESA) SMS (Short Message Service) messaging programs. By opting into SMS communications from Eaton RESA through any web form, enrollment paperwork, phone call or written consent, you agree to these terms.

1. About Eaton RESA SMS Programs

By opting into SMS communications, you agree to receive text messages from Eaton RESA. We may use SMS to communicate with parents, guardians, students, staff and community members for the following purposes:

• Emergency alerts and urgent notifications regarding weather closures, facility updates or campus safety.
• Important administrative updates related to student services, special education, early childhood and career/technical education programs.
• Appointment reminders and scheduling confirmations for meetings, assessments and educational consultations.
• Event invitations and reminders for Eaton RESA-hosted workshops, professional development and community events.
• Informational updates about Eaton RESA educational programs, resources and services for which you have expressed interest.

2. Messaging Frequency & Rates

Messaging frequency may vary depending on the school calendar, your enrolled programs, upcoming events and the nature of your consent. You will not receive unsolicited commercial messages. Standard message and data rates charged by your mobile carrier may apply to messages you receive from Eaton RESA. Eaton RESA is not responsible for any charges imposed by your carrier.

3. How to Opt Out

To opt out of SMS messages at any time, reply STOP to any Eaton RESA text message. You will receive a final confirmation, and no further messages will be sent via text.

Please allow up to five business days to process opt-out requests submitted by phone or mail. Opting out of SMS will not affect your ability to receive other forms of communication from Eaton RESA, including email and standard phone calls, unless you separately opt out of those programs.

Your consent to receive SMS messages from Eaton RESA is specific to Eaton RESA's own educational and administrative communications. It does not constitute consent to receive messages from any other external organization or third-party educational vendor unless you separately provide such consent in a distinct opt-in process that clearly identifies the third party.
