Meadowview Students Embrace Project Healthy School

Meadowview School was selected to take part of the University of Michigan’s Project Healthy Schools this year. This program helps students build lifelong healthy habits through fun, hands-on learning about nutrition, physical activity, and overall wellness.
With support from adaptive physical education teacher Taylor Jackson, students have been learning how to build balanced meals using the MyPlate model. Lessons have focused on food groups, the benefits of nutritious foods, limiting screen time, and the importance of regular exercise.
"It's been so touching to see students excited to learn about health," said Jackson. "Teaching about wellness isn't just about facts—it's about giving students the power to make choices that shape their future. When they understand their bodies and the food they eat, they begin to take charge of their lives."
