Director of Office of Career and Technical Education Visits Eaton RESA Career Preparation Center

Director Cantu will visit the Eaton RESA Career Preparation Center at Lansing Community College West Campus to learn about student opportunities, early college options, district initiatives and innovative program offerings.

As a bonus to this, it’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) month in which K-12 partners with post-secondary education across the state through CTE programs.

WHO:  Patty Cantu, Director, Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), Michigan Department of Education (MDE)

WHY: State Superintendent Brian Whiston has made it a priority at MDE to focus on customer service. All department directors are visiting intermediate school districts and local school districts to find out what MDE can do to support their needs. These visits will help the MDE leadership teams to see personally what is making a difference to students in Michigan schools. A visit to the Eaton RESA Career Preparation Center will highlight how student talents are developed, how innovative delivery models support student learning, and how schools are preparing young adults for life after high school.
