February marks National Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. To celebrate CTE Month, the Eaton RESA Board of Education turned over the floor to the people who know these programs best- the students themselves. Students from Eaton RESA Career Preparation Center (CPC) stepped up to the microphone to share how their experiences as students at the CPC have redefined their high school experience and prepared them for their future career paths.

The Board got to hear from several students who are currently balancing traditional academics with the rigorous, real-world training provided by the CPC.

The students’ testimonies offered Board members a firsthand look at the transformative moments happening within CTE programs. Beyond mastering technical skills, like welding a seam or bandaging a paw, students shared their gratitude for the CPC's unique opportunities. Students talked about building new friendships, exploring the industry through field trips and learning directly from professionals. For the Board, these stories were a powerful reminder of why Eaton RESA invests in CTE. This wasn’t merely a report on curriculum, it was a showcase of Michigan’s future workforce.

Students in attendance also included Aidan Droste, Grand Ledge High School Senior and CPC Machining student; Levin Malloy, Charlotte High School Senior and CPC Construction student; Jayla Poneta, Eaton Rapids High School Senior and CPC Welding student; and Lissie Dennis and Ava Gober, Grand Ledge High School Seniors and CPC Sports Medicine students.
