Behavior/Mental Health Services
Eaton RESA's Behavior/Mental Health Team are all clinically licensed mental health professionals comprised of licensed professional counselors, licensed masters social workers (micro) and psychologists who work with our local districts to provide a variety of clinical services ranging from crisis interventions to play therapy; offering support not just to students but staff as well. Our team serves all schools and students within Eaton County, including our non traditional learners who may attend programs virtually or are home-schooled. The BMHS team has also partnered with Grand Ledge Public Schools and UofM Sparrow Hospital to provide the clinical mental health services at the Grand Ledge Public Schools Health Center which offers services to ALL students regardless of county or school.
We are currently accepting referrals for the current 2025-26 school year. We will continue to accept referrals until Friday, May 1, 2026.
In addition to direct service and seeing students 1:1 or in small groups, the BMHS Team can provide consultation, attend MTSS meetings, observe classrooms, create and deliver PD, and other personalized activities that may be meaningful to you and your team. We can offer support with behaviors as well as early interventions for substance use, such as vaping, alcohol or other substances.
At any time, you can simply click on this link to submit a request for a student to receive services. It is not necessary to know which service you are asking for or which specialist would be most appropriate. Just answer a few questions and we will take it from there. The referral will go to the Eaton RESA Behavior/Mental Health Department, and we will review and assign the student as needed - this includes creating customized interventions.
Whether we need to reach out for more information or we begin the consent process, we attempt to review all referrals within 7 days and assign them to a specialist within 30 days. Please note - the form is not intended for emergency or crisis situations.
How Are You Feeling?
Our partners at Community Mental Health have created this mental health screening tool. Brief screenings are the quickest way to determine if you or someone you care about should connect with a behavioral health professional. This program is completely anonymous and confidential, and immediately following the brief questionnaire you will see your results, recommendations, and key resources.
