Eaton County Chambers Come Together to Support Students

The Charlotte, Potterville and Grand Ledge Chambers of Commerce are joining efforts to support students in their communities through a friendly competition called Spring Into Action with MI Bright Future!

Throughout the month of May, chamber organizations will be asking their members to join a network called MI Bright Future. Every Eaton County school district is currently working with MI Bright Future to connect students and local businesses together for career exploration and guidance. When a business registers to use MI Bright Future, they can opt-into a variety of fun career exploration activities for students – from profiling their company mission and career options to offering virtual career coaching or on-site student learning through class tours, job shadows or internships – whatever works best for the business.

Spring Into Action with MI Bright Future is following the efforts of each chamber throughout the month of May to see which can encourage the highest percentage of members to join by May 31st – with an overall goal of adding 100 or more Eaton County businesses to the network by June 1.

This initiative was developed by Eaton RESA Career Pathways Specialist, Heather Algrim. “Our local communities have lots of small town pride and have embraced this chance to “face off” against each other, while helping support their own businesses and students at the same time. And the best part is everyone’s efforts will help the students and business connections grow exponentially!” she said.

MI Bright Future is supported through collaborative community partnerships with Eaton RESA, Capital Area College Access Network and T3: Teach. Talent. Thrive. For more information about registering with MI Bright Future, contact Amanda Bauerschmidt at amanda.bauerschmidt@winintelligence.org or visit https://mibrightfuture.org/.
