Eaton RESA Celebrates School Board Recognition Month
Eaton RESA is joining 538 local and 56 intermediate school districts across Michigan to celebrate January as School Board Recognition Month.
“Our school board members spend countless hours of time working to provide the best possible education for our students,” said Cindy Anderson, Superintendent of Eaton RESA. “Celebrating School Board Recognition Month is one way to say ‘thank you’ for all they do.”
“School Board members represent their fellow citizens’ views and priorities in the complex enterprise of maintaining and running the community’s education service agency,” Anderson said. “Too often the efforts of school board members go unrecognized.”
The primary goals of our School Board are to support student achievement and provide programs or services needed by our local school districts, Anderson added. To achieve these goals, the board focuses on the following work:
- Achieving educational excellence through collaborative, responsive and innovative programs/services.
- Increasing the achievement and success of all students.
- Increasing community support for public education.
- Aligning use of the district’s human and financial resources to impact student achievement and increase implementation of shared programs/services.
“Even though we are making a special effort during January to show appreciation for our School Board members, we recognize their contributions reflect a year-round effort,” Anderson said. “They are dedicated individuals who are committed to improving outcomes for students and advocating for their needs.”
