Board of Education Vacancy Announcement

Eaton Regional Education Service Agency (Eaton RESA) is seeking applications to fill a current Board of Education vacancy. 

How to Apply: Interested persons must submit a letter expressing interest in the board position and a copy of a current resume indicating their qualifications for the position. Please email by the deadline to Brenda Young at or mail to: Eaton RESA, Superintendent’s Office, 1790 E Packard Hwy, Charlotte, MI 48813.

Submission Deadline: April 10, 2017 at 4:30 p.m.

Legal Requirements: The candidate must:
(1) be at least 18 years of age
(2) be a registered voter of the Eaton RESA service area
(3) be a citizen of the United States
(4) be a resident of the State of Michigan for at least 30 days (MCL 168.11 defines the term "resident")
(5) have no history of a felony conviction involving dishonesty, deceit, fraud or a breach of the public trust within the preceding 20 years.

Selection Process: The board will review the submitted materials and schedule interviews, which will be conducted on April 19, 2017 at 5:30 p.m in the Boardroom at 1790 E. Packard Hwy, Charlotte, Michigan.

Successful Candidate: Once selected, the individual will be given the Oath of Office and appointed to fill the vacant position until the next biennial election, which is June 5, 2017 {as per Eaton RESA Board Policy 0140}. The successful candidate will therefore be appointed to fill the position which expires on June 30, 2017. In the event that at the June 5, 2017 election meeting the candidate is elected to complete the term, then the individual will remain a member of the Board of Education until the expiration of the term on June 30, 2019.
